Advocacy - Smoking Cessation

Neighborhood Health sent a letter on September 30, 2020 to TennCare on behalf of 47 organizations from across Tennessee. We request TennCare add smoking quit aids to the formulary of the CoverRx program. For reference, CoverRx provides free or low-cost drugs and pharmacy supplies to low-income, uninsured adults.

The 47 co-signatories reflect a wide coalition, including the Tennessee Medical Association, the Tennessee Nurses Association, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Ascension/Saint Thomas, and NashvilleHealth. While each organization is different, we are united in support of this proposal to help Tennesseans struggling to overcome nicotine addiction.

We are hopeful we – and Tennessee – get a win here. It will take time and persistence, but we will keep at it! Thanks for all of your support.
